Mexican tarragon (Tagetes lucida) is a member of the marigold family that is sometimes used as a tarragon substitute. Other names include sweetscented marigold, Mexican marigold, Mexican mint marigold, sweet mace, Texas tarragon, pericón, yerbaniz, and hierbanís.
