Fruit nectar is a style of fruit juice in which fruit solids are still present as a very smooth pulp. They tend to contain more fiber and pectin than fruit juices. Many commercially produced fruit nectars also contain added sugars or syrups.
The term also refers to the sugar-rich liquid produced by plants and harvested by bees.
The term nectar is also used by some brewers to refer to a honey-forward mead product, and in some areas nectar may be a synonym for fruit juice.
