Farinha de mandioca is a coarse meal made from cassava root. The cassava may be toasted, in which case the farinha is labeled torrada; if it is untoasted it while be branca.
Farinha de mandioca is used in Brazilian cuisine to add body to numerous dishes, and also cook it in butter or palm oil to make farofa, a table condiment.
