Codfish tongue, sometimes called caplin, is a traditional dish associated with the codfish-fishing regions of Newfoundland and Norway. It is not actually the tongue of the codfish, but is actually a small muscle from the back of the fish's neck. They are traditionally lightly battered and fried, and served with salt, pepper, and small pork scraps.
