Camembert de Normandie is the protected designation given to Camembert cheese produced in the Normandy region with raw, unpasteurized milk from Normande cows.
Because un-aged unpasteurized cheeses cannot be imported into the United States, the cheeses are not generally available. Sheraton (2014) suggests Le Châtelain as the best available imported brand.
