Solanum nigrum, the European black nightshade or simply black nightshade or blackberry nightshade, is a flowering plant that produces edible berries and has been widely used as a food since antiquity.
In Kenya and Tanzania, where it is called rinagu or mnafu (plural amanagu), it is blanched or boiled and eaten with ugali. It is also foraged and casually farmed in India, Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa, Green, Turkey, and Indonesia.
